On my 3 day solo silence retreat, I was walking in the forest, sometimes on the path, sometimes off it. Lost in thoughts, enjoying the wind blowing in the leaves, I came face to face with a beautiful deer. We were both caught a bit by surprise but the eye contact contained so much love, curiosity and respect. It was such a profound exchange of two souls meeting. I do not have the words to further describe the encounter, except I felt magic, grace and gentleness.
I continued on my walk and found the place where I wanted to meditate. A while later, as I’m sitting down appreciating the morning and the peacefulness, my friend returned closer to me. This time, it was less of a surprise. It wanted to fest from the fruits of the nearby tree.
I had to google the totem deer and its meaning:
« When a deer appears in your life, it is believe to bring messages of gentleness, innocence, intuition and unconditional love »
As I surrender to my surroundings this weekend, to the gifts I’m receiving like the peacefulness and grace I feel, I know this encounter was another wink from God confirming I’m on the right path. I need to trust my journey, trust my intuition and believe in the magic surrounding us.
I am forever grateful for this beautiful encounter this morning.
